NEFA Provides OSHA Mandated Right-To-Know Training OSHA requires that all employees be trained in the use and safety for all chemicals. This training and refresher course should be done annually for all employees and upon hiring for any new employees. The training must at a minimum include the written programs, labeling, chemical hazards, first aid, and exploration of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). NEFA's program included all the essential parts as well as exposure monitoring and guides on reducing exposure. NEFA's latest Talking Shop program, iHazard Communications Training: Your Employee's Right-To- knowî 's a tremendous way for Business owners to satisfy their obligation, and to provide the training that every employee needs and deserves. Peter Blake, NEFA Executive Vice President helped drycleaners do just that recently in Haverhill Massachusetts. One cleaner alone brought 16 employees to the program. That cleaner left the program with training records filled out for their business with the date, time, duration, and topics covered. NEFA has a versatile program that both teaches management how to do the training for new members, as well as does the actual refresher training for employees. This program can be specifically tailored to individual companies businesses and can be done as part of NEFA's Personal Instruction program. iMany cleaners neglect the need for continued training,î offered Blake, iand if OSHA knocks on their door, they will pay a heavy price.
